April - SIPIDI

Joining in once again with Fiona's See It, Pin It, Do It. I am really enjoying this meme and it has made me pull things off my Pinterest account and actually make them instead of just looking at them.  This month, not one, not two but three pins from my boards have been made!  But at the moment can only show you two.

It was Gracia's Birthday this month and whilst at a recent weekend retreat I used  this pin as inspiration

for her Birthday card.

I also used this idea

to make her birthday cake

and then used it again a couple of days later to make a cake for her bestest best friend whose birthday is tomorrow - Happy Birthday Hannah x.

Just remembered - got the idea for how to do two coloured icing from Pinterest too!

Reasons to be cheerful:-

1.  Loving all kinds of making and baking at the moment.

2. Having Gracia home for four weeks.

3. The huge smile it gave me when I asked Gracia if she remembered singing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah  when she was little and she said she did and that we sang it very loud and of course because we are Mosses we have to sing everything very loud!

Reason to be sad:-

Just dropped my lovely girl off at the station to go back to Newcastle after four glorious weeks spent as a happy family but not too long now until she comes back for the whole summer.  We were both in tears which is unusual for us and it seemed more of a wrench than normal :0(

Throw Back Thursday - A Step Back in Time

Today's Throw Back Thursday is a layout I made in April 2011 - I can't believe that it was that long ago.  It is of David's parents on their wedding day.  His mum was only 19 and it seems so strange to think that she married so young.  They had a very loving and happy marriage and had 4 lovely children as a result of it.

I used Bo Bunny Timepiece papers and stickers and Prima flowers.  The white doilies are cut from the printed acetate that the flowers came on.

Reasons to be cheerful:-

1. I am enjoying looking back on past layouts and smiling as I remember the stories behind them.

2. I can 'stack up' several posts and schedule them to be posted.

3. The last photo has reminded me how much I like to cluster flowers, buttons and stickers together and I will be doing that again very soon.

How Can This Have Happened?

You tell me how this has happened!  How can she have gone from this

to this?

Who stole all the years in-between?

Happy 21st Birthday our beautiful, talented, bright girl and I hope you are having a wonderful time in Morocco.  We are so proud of how you've grown up to be the amazing woman that you are today.

Reason to be cheerful:-

Exactly 21 years ago this girl arrived into our lives - she was then and is now everything we dreamed of and more.  We love you to infinity and beyond.

Throw Back Thursday - A Difference of Opinion!

Joining in with Ann and all the other girls who participate in Throw Back Thursday.

A layout from April 2013 - I used an old photo from when Gracia was 12 but journaling and sentiment remains the same.

Papers are from Studio Calico Classic Collection.

Reasons to be cheerful:-

1.  We have very few differences of opinion these days.

2. Have just had three sublime days with Gracia and Mum

3. Mum's treatment is going well.

Good Toes, Naughty Toes

'Good Toes, Naughty Toes' - a phrase from your first ballet lesson at 21/2, still being used 19 years later.

Joining in with Abby's 1 photo 20 words.

Reasons to be cheerful:

1.  At 21 you still take ballet classes and perform in the university Dance Society shows.

2.  You can always persuade Josh to join in a silly photo op.

3.  Most importantly, in life, you dance to the beat of your own drum.
