Free Design of the Week - Folk Heart 3D Basket

When I saw the Free Design of the Week for this week I knew that the little tag embellishment would be perfect for a mini album I had made for ATDML's March DT. (More details here.)

It went perfectly with the Bo Bunny - Love and Lace papers and stickers and the Silhouette Faux Leather paper was ideal for my album covers.

Reason to be cheerful:-

Making this little book made me remember so many happy days spent with David.

A Clean House - Free Silhouette Shape of the Week - 21 March 2016

Now anyone who knows me will know that I hate housework with a passion.  Don't get me wrong I do it and I love a clean and tidy house but the process involved in getting there is one I find tedious and a waste of time.

When I realised that the shape of the week was a quote that said 'A Clean House is a Happy House' I knew I would struggle to relate to it but I decided to make it into a little new home card.

When David saw the card he said that I had got it wrong and it should say A Clean House is a Cr*ppy House.  He knows me so well.

Reason to be cheerful:

My lovely boy who lives with all my domestic failings and loves me despite the fact he likes a clean and tidy house.

Free Silhouette Shape of the Week - Butterfly Purse Box

Hello, hello.  I can't believe that another week has flown by and it's time for the free shape of the week.

This week it's a 3d shape - a Butterfly Purse Box.
I used the butterfly part of this design to make some embellishments for a layout.  I cut solid ones out from patterened paper and then lacey ones from some Silhouette vellum.

Reason to be cheerful:-

It's almost Easter and Gracia will be home soon.

Memorandum Monday - 7th March - Girls Just Wonna Have Fun

I was reminded on Saturday just how much I value my friends.  I spent the day with my two most favourite female companions (there were 16 other ladies there too but I will just talk about these two) at my crop.  My two absolutely best friends Eileen and Denise.

Eileen had been exiled living in Scotland for several years as her husband's job took them there but he has now relocated much closer to home and she was able to come along.  Our friendship started when our daughters (both only children) became friends at school.  Up until Eileen I didn't really do girlfriends as such I had friends who were women but none I would say I was really close to.  But Eileen persevered with my slight indifference about female friends and showed me the joy of having a best female bud.

I met Denise through scrapbooking a few years ago and liked her immediately she is kind, funny and very talented, as is Eileen who is my scrap hero.  Denise and I are quite similar in many ways and we share an immense love of our family, Denise's love for her husband and boys shines through every page she makes.

So on Saturday I relearnt that there is no better way to spend a Saturday than in the company of your two BFF's.

Reason to be cheerful

That Eileen persevered and showed me that having a girlfriend is one of life's essentials and that I had my friendship with Denise to rely on when Eileen was away.

Look out world the Three Musketeers are back together!

Free Shape of the Week - 2nd February 2016

Hello, hello - Karen here and today I am sharing with you a frame I made using a custom background paper and vinyl for the Silhouette UK blog. I have never used vinyl before and believe me it cuts like butter and goes onto the glass of the frame so easily.

If you would like instructions on how I made this pop over to the Silhouette UK blog but be quick as the shape of the week is only free until next Tuesday when it will be replaced by another free shape.

Reason to be cheerful:

Discovering a love of vinyl!
